Residence in wine country. 

A home for a couple changing gears to follow their wine-making passion.

Small internal design team of myself and an interior designer, under direction of the studio principal. I was brought on to the internal team after schematic design to take over from the former PM and finish the DD / CD process.

Exposed beams make everything more complicated: alignments, mechanical systems, constructability, even staging and sequencing. Pandemic-era pricing and construction didn’t help either, but I learned a lot managing a construction process more remotely than usual.

The home being on the smaller side meant every decision was very visible in the end result and nailing the details was even more critical.
